Area of the road along the length = 200 x 5 = 1000 sq. m. Area along the width = 120 x 5 = 600 Total area = 1000 + 600 = 1600 sq. m. But, the central (5 x 5) or 25 sq. m. area of the roads has been counted twice. So, the area of the two roads = 1600 - 25 = 1575 sq. m.
