The Public Accounts Committee
is called the twin-sister of the Estimates
Committee. It is its duty to scrutinize the
appropriation accounts and the report of the
Comptroller and Auditor-General (CAG) of
India. Unlike the Estimates Committee, it has at
its disposal the expert advice of the CAG based
upon a detailed examination of the government's
accounts.
