Commercial grain stock is the
current amount of harvested grain crops stored
domestically, including both on-farni and off-
farm storage sites. Buffer stocks are created
during periods of normal or bumper harvest to
ensure food security during the periods when
production is short of normal demand during bad
agricultural years.
